CWA Constitution Article III \u2013 Objects<\/address>\n
a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To unite the workers within its jurisdiction in a single cohesive labor union for the purpose of collective effort;<\/address>\n
b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To improve the conditions of the workers with respect to wages, hours, working conditions and other conditions of employment;<\/address>\n
c)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To disseminate information among the workers respecting economic, social, political and other matters affecting their lives and welfare;<\/address>\n
d)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To advance the interests of the workers by advocating the enactment of laws beneficial to them and the defeat or repeal of laws detrimental to them;<\/address>\n
e)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To do all things which may be necessary or proper to secure for the workers the enjoyment of their natural rights.<\/address>\n

We get these objectives accomplished by actively participating within our own CWA structure and those of our Union affiliates – as members of CWA 9003, through the CWA Southern California Council, the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, CWA District 9<\/a>, the California State Federation of Labor, and through our International Union<\/a> and the AFL-CIO<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Because laws are made\/defeated\/repealed by elected representatives who often are elected by 1 or 2 votes per precinct, we encourage our members to be Registered to Vote and VOTE. Helpful Voter Registration information can be found by clicking on the Government\/State tab above.\u00a0 You can register to vote or apply to Vote-by-Mail online.<\/p>\n

At election times we distribute a list of CWA-recommended candidates for office.\u00a0 Although we never will tell you how to vote, we do make recommendations based upon face-to-face interviews, public commitments, \u201clabor friendly\u201d positions and\/or their actual voting record on our Labor related issues.<\/p>\n
