The agreement also includes a ratification and retention bonus\nbased on each agent&#8217;s years of service in recognition of the time spent in\nnegotiations and to encourage retention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;For more than two\nyears, CWA members at Envoy have stood strong in their fight for a contract\nwith fair, family-sustaining wages and a contract that treats them with the\nrespect they deserve,&#8221; said CWA President Chris Shelton. &#8220;Thanks to\nthe dedication of our members, we now have a strong agreement that gives Envoy\nagents increased wages, improvements on numerous benefits, and better\nopportunities for agents moving forward as they continue to make Envoy\nsuccessful.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/u1584542.ct.sendgrid.net\/mpss\/c\/AQE\/ni0YAA\/t.2st\/FGaTfnOASBGp8XQ6IMmxcg\/h5\/ejwZvX4VREOwzFdxA3Zfl5IDf63pG9lRVIdNmWDGF-2BdgnqWa2-2BJjPRwwAvJ4IuQqd5-2Bv1Xk1mX4wikFBxYxhdvQkHoXUjxXXMLmsNqpvFdIwD8aVHy4i40KXer3QZa-2BizapLIqZXRjXoQ6S3G7Rbt48b8avsyrws-2Fez4zA1LJx2lXn1FWP51GQ-2F0A6-2FYFaw-2FD5YIHWetio6H5m09DAnB4j9iF-2BAtD6SPplrw7dXDwxu7HI3vLJWcQhmDMnb44wYDtLpHBBCmVb4YMeONPTJ3kpuQ0tKRM-2FA7pg10VkoNtRU-3D\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to learn more details about the agreement<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AT&amp;T Southeast<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As bargaining opened on\nMonday with AT&amp;T Southeast for about 22,000 CWA members, the CWA bargaining\nteam emphasized the need for AT&amp;T to share its record-breaking profits with\nthe people who make it all possible \u2013 its employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If you were to visit\nany work center or call center across [CWA] District 3, you would discover that\nyour employees, our members, are not treated with the respect they have earned\nand deserve,&#8221; said Richard Honeycutt, Vice President of CWA District 3, in\nopening remarks to the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though the company claims\nthat recent job cuts announced before Father&#8217;s Day including more than 900 in\nthe Southeast are a result of a lack of work to be done, AT&amp;T has\nincreasingly turned to contractors to perform CWA members&#8217; work in call centers\nand in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We start this\nbargaining session demanding AT&amp;T show our hard-working members the respect\nand loyalty they deserve. This can be done through better wages, benefits,\nimproved work rules, and job security. Give work to your employees \u2013 CWA\nmembers \u2013 not the employees of other companies,&#8221; Honeycutt said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current contract expires\non August 3, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/data\/000\/299\/823\/original\/1a_AT_T_Southeast_600.jpg?w=640&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption> <br> <em>CWAers mobilized as bargaining began to show AT&amp;T Southeast that they are ready to fight for a fair contract. <\/em> <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>General Electric<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday, the Union\nCoordinated Bargaining Committee (CBC) of IUE-CWA and five other member unions\nat GE reached a tentative agreement containing several general wage increases\nspread over four years and controlling employee healthcare costs. IUE-CWA local\nunion delegates voted to recommend the agreement to their members, and will be\nreturning to their locals to share the details of the agreement. Each local\nwill have an informational meeting, and a membership vote will be scheduled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hawaiian Airlines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hawaiian Airlines Flight\nAttendants, represented by AFA-CWA, and labor allies demonstrated on Wednesday\nat Honolulu International Airport to protest protracted negotiations with\nHawaiian Airlines management for a new contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Hawaiian Airlines is\nsuccessful and growing, in large part due to previous sacrifices and persistent\nwork of Flight Attendants on the front lines,&#8221; said Sharon Soper, AFA-CWA\nHawaiian Airlines President. &#8220;Two years of negotiations is too long to\nnegotiate a new contract that reflects our contributions and hard work. We are\ndone with delay tactics. The company is trying to eliminate U.S. telecommunications installers by offshoring good jobs and terminating its own highly-skilled U.S. workforce. These actions will cause U.S. workers to lose their jobs and place the health and security of tens of thousands of retirees at risk. <br><br> &#8220;We&#8217;re urging Nokia to bargain a fair deal that allows the company to invest in our communities, keep its long-standing installer workforce, and maintain quality of service for customers,&#8221; said CWA Telecommunications &amp; Technologies Vice President Lisa Bolton.<br><br> Nokia wants access to lucrative 5G business opportunities in the United States as well as taxpayer-funded government contracts. The report also details the major issues around Verizon&#8217;s use of subcontractors for the work associated with the 5G network build-out. Instead of generating jobs for Sacramento by hiring locally, out of 10 known subcontractors Verizon has hired to build the 5G network, seven are out-of-state firms, many with bad track-records when it comes to accountability and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with the report\nrelease, CWA is launching a new website to inform Sacramento residents and\ncommunities across the country about the pitfalls of deals like the\nVerizon-Sacramento agreement, which favor corporate profits over the public\ninterest.
