CWA Local 9003 recently held our first Area Stewards Meeting of the year, bringing together stewards from across the Local for a full day of connection, reflection, and planning.
This meeting was intentionally different.
We took time to reset, reconnect, and strengthen how we work together as stewards — because a stronger, more unified steward team means better representation and stronger advocacy for our members.
Throughout the day, stewards participated in activities designed to:
- Build trust and solidarity across areas
- Recognize the often unseen work stewards do every day
- Learn from one another’s experiences
- Strengthen communication and teamwork
- Recommit to serving members with consistency, fairness, and unity
These conversations weren’t about titles or positions — they were about shared responsibility. Steward work can be demanding, and this meeting created space to acknowledge that reality while reinforcing an important truth: no steward works alone.
As we move into the new year, CWA Local 9003 is making intentional changes to:
- Improve coordination among stewards
- Strengthen enforcement of the contract
- Ensure members receive timely, consistent support
- Operate as a more connected and effective team
This meeting marked an important step forward. When stewards are supported, aligned, and unified, members are better protected.
